Ashley Scriven, MA, LPC
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University and a Bachelor’s degree in English from Vanguard University of Southern California.
I am particularly passionate about working with pre-teens, adolescents, and college students. I have experience providing therapy in school settings as well as private practice. I use a relational, person-centered approach that weaves in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) interventions to help people reach their goals and feel their best. I especially enjoy focusing on self-compassion and implementing creative interventions, such as art, when helpful.
In my practice, I have experience helping people overcome self-esteem concerns, depression, anxiety disorders, school stress, grief, and trauma. I am also passionate about helping people work through perfectionism and self-criticism by using self-compassion.
My hope is that you find therapy a safe, collaborative space to overcome challenges, learn more about yourself, and find the healing you need.
I am originally from California, but love living in VA! When I am not working, I love a long walk, thrift shopping, hugging my cats, and spending time with friends.
