Jessica Palacios, M.Ed., LPC
My goal as your therapist is to help you create a life worth living. While we cannot change your past, we can work together to create a better today and a brighter future. Regardless of where you are in life or what your circumstances may be, I offer unconditional acceptance, so that you can feel safe to share your story without fear of judgment.
I emphasize a strengths-based and client-centered approach to therapy while utilizing a variety of theoretical perspectives including cognitive-behavioral, brief- supportive, solution-focused, trauma-focused, among others. Therapies, techniques, and goals are tailored to your needs.
I received a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2012 from Lynchburg College. I began my counseling career in emergency mental health where I worked with a wide range of populations, including children, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. In 2015, I began working at an outpatient psychiatric clinic providing individual counseling to adult populations diagnosed with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma disorders, substance abuse disorders, among others. Today, I primarily work with adults who are experiencing depression, anxiety, significant life stressors, trauma, and grief and loss.
I am a Virginia native and have spent most of my life in the area. My favorite season is Summer. In my free time, I enjoy strength training, yoga, kayaking, live music, and gardening.
