JilliAn Moreland, MS, LPC

I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor, and I’ve spent over 8 years providing trauma-informed, evidence-based care to children, teens, young adults, and families. I graduated from Liberty University in 2017 and earned my master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Longwood University in 2019.

I believe healing doesn’t always happen in a chair. Play is the natural language of children, and in my office, it’s one of the most powerful ways to express feelings and experiences that words alone can’t capture. I use play therapy to help children and their families process emotions, navigate life changes, heal from traumatic experiences, and dream up new and daring ways to be in the world. This evidence-based approach creates an ideal environment for growth by allowing children to engage their whole brains. Play therapy allows both your child and you to uncover what’s really going on inside of them and how to support them effectively.

Caregivers are essential to a child’s success in therapy, so I provide ongoing support for families, helping parents and guardians understand and empower their children. My goal is to help children grow into secure, resilient individuals who know themselves deeply while equipping families with the tools to nurture that growth.

I am a strong advocate for spaces where all voices and identities are respected. My style is warm, collaborative, and inclusive, creating a safe space where kids and families can heal, grow, and thrive together. Whether through play, shared laughter, or simply feeling understood, my mission is to help every person uncover the strength that has always been within them —with just a little magic, a little play, and a lot of imagination.
